Hermosillo, Mexico, September 4
The Cuban national team today won the silver medal in the World Baseball Championship, sub-15 category, after losing the title dispute against its similar team from the United States by 4-3.
Cubans gave up a close duel against the US team that culminated in a strikeout in the top of the seventh inning when they had the bases loaded and their best batter on duty.
It was a close duel that had its decision in the bottom of the fifth inning. The US team was the best throughout the tournament, however, in the final it encountered a tough stumbling block in the Cuban team.
The match for third place could not take place due to the Japanese team presenting multiple cases of Covid-19 and the Chinese Taipei team ended up with the bronze medal.
