“We believe in the strength of a united Caribbean. We are convinced that together we will overcome the great challenges that await us”. With the phrase of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, the ambassadors of Cuba and the CARICOM member countries in the United States, celebrated the 50 years of relations between that organization and the Greater Antilles.
During the meeting, held at the Cuban diplomatic headquarters in Washington, those present highlighted the ties that unite them, as well as the spheres of cooperation in which progress is being made for the development of these nations.
The event included the projection of an audiovisual that collected moments from the summits held with the presence of Fidel and Raúl, as well as the recent visit of President Miguel Díaz Canel to the Caribbean nations.
The space was propitious to review the historical links and reaffirm the will to continue strengthening the good relations between Cuba and CARICOM.
