Cuba and Iran for boosting their cooperation in higher education, science and technology

Tehran, November 23, 2019. The Ambassador of Cuba in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Alexis Bandrich Vega, was received in the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Persian nation by its  Minister Dr. Mansour Gholami. During the fraternal meeting, both reviewed the current status and perspectives of cooperation between the two countries in the areas of science, technology and higher education (area that is also subordinate to said ministry), covered by the agreements signed between both countries and at will common to promote research projects, the exchange of teachers and students as well as virtual education programs.

Minister Gholami had complimentary words towards the quality of education and scientific development of Cuba and especially towards the revolutionary approach with which these important spheres of the advancement of our people are conducted. The head of Iranian Science, Research and Technology confirmed the commitment of his institution to facilitate and encourage all aspects of cooperation identified during the sessions of the Iran-Cuba Intergovernmental Commission whose seventeenth edition in January this year, highlighted the interest of deepening the ties between our universities and scientific entities.

For his part, the Ambassador of Cuba delivered to Minister Gholami, a letter sent by his Cuban counterpart Dr. José Ramón Saborido Loidi, Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba, inviting him to participate in the University 2020 Congress to be held in Havana in February of the next year.
