Tehran, August 25, 2019. The Ambassador of Cuba, Alexis Bandrich Vega was received this morning by the Vice Minister for the Development of Professionals and Sports Championships of the Ministry of Sports and Youth of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Mohammad Reza Davarzani, who highlighted the historical ties of brotherhood and cooperation that both countries maintain, as well as the willingness of his ministry to expand cooperation to multiple areas and sports disciplines.
During his visit, Ambassador Bandrich also held meetings with the Director of International Relations of said ministry, Dr. Farshid Tahmasbi, with which he reviewed the action plan to materialize what was embodied in the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the National Sports Institute, Physical Education and Recreation of Cuba and the Ministry of Sports and Persian Youth, which was signed earlier this year in Havana.

nternational Convention of Physical Activity and Sport (AFIDE 2019) that will take place in Havana from November 11 to 15, during which they are set to hold parallel meetings with INDER authorities to promote cooperation in areas such as the sports industry, the fight against doping and sports medicine among others.
Other important meetings were held with Mr. Beranoosh Nikbin, advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth of Iran, as well as presidents of Persian Federations who supported the common will to advance in this important area.
With special pride both delegations shared recognition of the achievements of both countries in the sports arena, which will surely increase as a result of this collaboration.
