Cuba and Lesotho advocate the strengthening of their bilateral ties

Maseru, 13 June 2025. As part of the 46th anniversary of bilateral relations between Cuba and the Kingdom of Lesotho, officials from the Cuban Embassy in South Africa, which is also accredited to Lesotho, paid a working visit to the kingdom to review the main issues in bilateral relations. They held fruitful meetings with the Ministries of International Relations and Health.

At the local Foreign Ministry, they were received by Deputy Principal Secretary Limpho Masilo-Motsamai, whom they thanked for Lesotho's support during the vote on the blockade resolution, as well as for mentioning the issue in the speech given by His Majesty Letsie III at last year's UN General Assembly debate. Both sides advocated the deepening of political and diplomatic ties.

In the afternoon, they visited the Ministry of Health, where they held a productive exchange with Principal Secretary Maneo Moliehi Ntene and ministry officials. The Lesotho side thanked the delegation for the presence of Cuban collaborators and recognised their valuable contribution to the country's public health system. Both delegations defended the need to continue and expand bilateral cooperation relations.
