With the signing of diplomatic relations on December 7, 1960, a close friendship between the two peoples began. In the 1970s, with the visit to Cuba of the then President of Mongolia Yumjaagiin Tsedenbal and the visit to Mongolia of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, these relations were strengthened.
In the 1980s, the trade and cooperation agreements between the two governments were ratified. The relations in culture and sport paid off.
The solidarity and selfless contribution of Cuba has supported the training of Mongolian students who have graduated in our country and who today contribute their knowledge to the development of the Asian nation.
Recently, in 2016, the traditional ties of friendship were reinforced with the official visit to Cuba of the then President of Mongolia, Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj. Cuba has contributed to improving the quality of life of the Mongolian population through the registration and application of biotechnological products such as Heberprot-P.
Currently, with bilateral cooperation in the medical-pharmaceutical area, biotechnology, tourism and the training of human resources, new horizons are being opened to continue developing these ties.
