Cuba and Mongolia celebrate Political Consultation meeting between Ministries of Foreign Affairs

CUBA, January 19, 2019.- The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Marcelino Medina González, received on Saturday the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Davaasuren Damdinsuren, within the framework of the celebration of the Political Consultations mechanism between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries.

After verifying with satisfaction the progress that bilateral relations have undergone in recent years, both parties ratified the will to strengthen the traditional bonds of friendship and bilateral cooperation in areas such as health, sports, culture and education.

During his stay in Cuba, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia also held meetings with executives of the Higher Institute of International Relations "Raúl Roa García" and the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba and the Ministry of Environment, Green Development and Tourism of Mongolia for cooperation in the field of environmental protection.

Accompanying the distinguished visitor, Damdin Gansukh, general director of the Department of America, Middle East and Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and Amarsaikhan Dashpurev, Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the Mongolian Embassy in Cuba. On the Cuban side were Alberto Blanco Silva, director of Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other officials of the Foreign Ministry.
