Pretoria, 21 July 2026. —The Cuban Ambassador, Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo, held a productive meeting with the President of the Pan-African Parliament, Dr Fateh Boutbig. The meeting, held in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect, provided an opportunity to explore concrete ways of strengthening collaboration between Cuba’s National Assembly of People’s Power and the Pan-African Parliament in areas of common interest.
During the meeting, both delegations discussed initiatives relating to parliamentary cooperation, legislative diplomacy and the exchange of experiences in institutional strengthening. Ambassador Rodríguez Pinelo emphasised that the proposed collaboration forms part of the historic and deep-rooted relations between Cuba and the African peoples, forged through shared struggles for liberation and decades of solidarity.
The Embassy thanks the President of the Pan-African Parliament and his team for their warm welcome, and expresses the Cuban delegation’s willingness to move forward with concrete agreements that will bring about cooperation in priority areas for both peoples. Cuba reaffirms its commitment to continental solidarity and to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy between Cuba and Africa.
