Kingstown, 20 February 2026 - The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, visited the Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries, Honourable Kaschaka Cupid, where both sides reaffirmed their interest in promoting bilateral cooperation ties in areas of common interest.
During the meeting, concrete possibilities of collaboration in the sports field were explored, with special emphasis on the development of Athletics. The Ambassador highlighted Cuba’s recognized experience in training athletes and coaches, as well as his country’s willingness to share knowledge and good practices aimed at contributing to the development of this and other sports in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Both authorities exchanged views on the existing potential in the area of culture and creative industries, stressing the importance of promoting joint initiatives that encourage artistic exchange, the preservation of cultural heritage and youth participation in cultural projects.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of respect and cooperation, reflecting the historic relations of friendship between both countries and the shared commitment to continue expanding collaboration for the benefit of their peoples (Cuban Embassy to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines/Cubaminrex).
