Pretoria, March 7,2019.- The vice president of ARTEX, Migdalia Torres Valdivia, the Director of the National Center of Popular Music of Cuba, Víctor Rodríguez and the official of the Ministry of Culture of Cuba, Yanicia Garzón Kindelán, were received at the Department of Art and Culture of South Africa.
The meeting was chaired by the South African side John Mogashoa, Director of International Relations and Thapi Segoati, Deputy Director for Europe and the Americas.
The Cuban representatives, members of the visiting cultural delegation in South Africa presented various initiatives aimed at continuing to strengthen the bonds of cultural exchange between the two countries.
In this sense, the parties identified several areas of common interest with potential to subscribe joint cooperation projects, including, among others, cooperation in record productions, Cuban academic assistance in different specialties of culture and exchanges of delegations for participation in music, film and plastic arts festivals in Cuba and South Africa.
The occasion was also favorable to confirm the interest of both parties to sign, in the shortest possible time, a Bilateral Cooperation Agreement in the field of Art and Culture, which is already in its final phase of preparation.
