Cuba and SVG are working to expand collaboration in the construction sector.

Kingstown, 9 April 2025 - The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Works of this country, Ms. Lavern Grant, held a working meeting this morning.

The parties considered options for enhancing existing cooperation, which currently focuses on roads and bridges construction and repair.

The Director General of the San Vicente Road, Buildings and General Services Administration (BRAGSA), Mr. Kem Bartholomew, was also present at the meeting and expressed his desire to participate in collaborative projects with Cuba.

The largest UNECA (Construction Companies of the Caribbean S.A) engineer brigade in the Caribbean currently operates in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Given the development and expansion of the construction sector in this country, there are conditions for the brigade to continue growing (Cuban Embassy in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines/Cubaminrex).
