Helsinki, November 19, 2022.- Cuba congratulated the Republic of Latvia on the occasion of its National Holiday celebrated this November 18, in messages from President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Minister Bruno Rodríguez to their Latvian counterparts, while the Cuban Foreign Ministry shared a message of greetings to the national date.
"Cuba congratulates Latvia on the occasion of its National Holiday. We ratify our willingness to continue strengthening the ties between both nations" the text added.
Latvia’s National Holiday celebrates the Proclamation of Independence by the National People’s Council on November 18, 1918.
Cuba and Latvia established relations officially on December 20, 1991, after the demise of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
