Cuba donates six titles in Spanish to the national electronic library "Helmet" in an event sponsored by Ninho association

Helsinki, October 29, 2023.- The Ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, participated in the traditional storytelling marathon in Spanish, sponsored by the "Ninho" cultural association and aimed at the Latin American community residing in Helsinki, Finland. During her presentation at the central Oodi library, the representative of Cuba read three fragments of the book "The Country of Fears", written by Jorge Luis Peña and illustrated by Edel Rodríguez Molano.

In the run-up to this event, Cuba also joined in donating texts to the Helmet network of institutions that sponsor access to universal literature in the country. On this occasion, it included six titles by Cuban authors aimed at children and young people, in PDF, Mobi and Pub formats, for the electronic library of the country's Helmet institutions, which currently have titles only in foreign languages ​​Russian, Arabic and now Spanish, with the texts delivered by the Cuban Ambassador.

At the time of the delivery, the Cuban diplomat stressed the importance of continuing to cultivate reading in children and young people, now occupying virtual spaces such as tablets and ebooks, in which the so-called digital natives dedicate much of their time.
