Cuba expresses solidarity with South Africa in the face of a disaster

Havana, August 31, 2023.- Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, expressed his solidarity with his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa and the people of that country, for the loss of human lives in a fire on Thursday.

"Shocked from Cuba by the unfortunate tragedy that occurred in a building in Johannesburg, which has caused more than 70 deaths," said the Cuban leader in X, formerly Twitter.

Through the same social network, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuban Foreign Minister, sent condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the event.
