PRESS RELEASE ON THE MARCH OF THE COMBATING PEOPLE IN CUBA ON DECEMBER 20
On December 20, Cuba held a mass mobilization to demand that the U.S. government end the “inhumane blockade” and include Cuba on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
The President of the Republic of Cuba stressed that there are numerous statements by personalities from the United States and other parts of the world, demanding that President Biden use his power to at least remove from that spurious list the name of a nation that should never have been on it and that has been a victim of terrorism from U.S. territory.
“No American ruler can classify Cuba as a terrorist state,” he stated categorically in his vibrant speech.
The Cuban people once again took to the streets to raise their voices against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government. The streets of Cuba were once again filled with Cubans fighting for their rights and for a sovereign country with unwavering principles, despite the difficulties. The Cuban people gathered at the Anti-Imperialist Tribune, with the presence of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and other members of the country's presidency.
The President of Cuba assured in his speech that this march is an example of how the Cuban people fight for their sovereignty and their principles despite the obstacles imposed by the blockade on the social and economic life of the country in the midst of an increasingly interconnected world.
The extraordinary march of the fighting people highlighted the unity and popular support, as well as the joy shown by Cubans throughout the country.
