Cuba at the May Day celebration in Warsaw.
Warsaw, May 2—On International Workers’ Day in Warsaw, socialist organizations and friends of Cuba expressed in their demands their opposition to the unjust, cruel, and inhumane economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
They held demonstrations in front of the U.S. Embassy and the Polish Parliament, where they expressed their rejection of this policy. They also highlighted its main consequences and impact on the Cuban population, which has intensified following President Donald Trump’s January 29 executive order declaring Cuba an “extraordinary and unusual” threat to U.S. national security.
Similarly, as part of the celebrations, a solidarity picnic with Cuba was held, which was also attended by Cubans living in Warsaw. The Cuban ambassador to Poland, Ibete Fernández Hernández, expressed her gratitude for the expressions of support and rejection of the U.S. blockade, while also discussing the current situation in Cuba.
