Cuba participates in the 22nd Havana Film Festival in New York City

With an extensive program of activities including master classes, retrospectives, round tables, among others, the 22nd edition of the Havana Film Festival is being held in New York City from November 3 to 10.
The event, which will showcase more than 30 internationally awarded films, becomes a space for the dissemination and awarding of Latin American cinema.
The cultural event will pay tribute to Pastor Vega with the screening of "Retrato de Teresa" (1979) and "Adiós, Papi" (Aaron Vega Granados, 2021).
Participants will also watch the films "El Mayor" and "Juan de los Muertos", a tribute to Rigoberto López and Alexis Díaz de Villegas, respectively.
The presentation of the book "La historia del sobre amarillo" (The history of the yellow envelope) by its author, Iván Giroud, stands out in the calendar. This moment includes an exchange between Giroud and the outstanding professor Jerry Carlson.
Cuba will compete in different categories with films such as "Oscuros Amores" (Gerardo Chijona, 2021), "El Mayor" (Rigoberto López, 2020), "La gente del documental" (Inti Herrera, 2022), "El regreso de Nicanor" (Eduardo del Llano, 2022), among others.
