Durban, November 06, 2023.- The general secretary of the National Union of Civilian Defense Workers (SNTCD), Mabel Acea, heads the Cuban delegation participating in the tenth National Congress of the Police and Prison Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) taking place in Durban, Kwazulu-Natal.
The event, which runs from today, Monday, to Friday, November 10, has as its central theme: "Building a sustainable organization in defense of collective bargaining". The President of the African National Congress, Cyril Ramaphosa, participated in the opening day, as did Zingiswa Losi and Solly Pethoe, President and Secretary General of COSATU, respectively.
The Cuban general secretary is accompanied by the International Relations officer of the Cuban Workers' Central, Laura Fernandez and also representatives of the Cuban Embassy in Pretoria.
