Cuba present at the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Independence of Swaziland.

On April 19, the 50th Anniversary of the Independence of Swaziland and the 50th birthday of King Mswati III were celebrated in the city of Manzini. The Ambassador of Cuba in that country, Rodolfo Benítez Verson, participated in the celebrations, accompanied by Dr. Raquel Toledo, Chief of the Cuban Medical Brigade in the African reign.

The celebrations began with a military parade, followed by the performance of representatives of the rich and diverse cultural manifestations of that country. Thousands of Swazis participated in the event.
The Cuban delegation held a brief meeting with the Monarch, who conveyed congratulations to the new President of the Cuban Council of State, compañero Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez and recognized, once again, the outstanding work carried out by Cuban doctors in Swaziland.
At the celebrations, the African monarch announced the decision to change the current name of the country "Kingdom of Swaziland" to that of "Kingdom of eSwatini"
