Ulaanbaatar. 13 May 2017. With the presence of the Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia, Ms. Oyunkhorol Dulamsuren was celebrated this morning in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, the "National Tree Planting Day" at the National Park of Ulaanbaatar. In the event, to which the diplomatic corps was invited, the Cuban Ambassador, Raúl Delgado Concepción, had the opportunity to plant two trees in the name of Cuba.
This event is part of Mongolia's actions to reforest the country and especially to raise awareness among young generations of the importance of forests to the planet and the fight against climate change. The Minister stressed in her words that desertification has advanced in the Mongolian territory and as well as the environmental pollution of Ulan Bator, capital of the Mongolian nation, constitute an environmental problem for the authorities of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
The ambassadors present had the opportunity to comment during the event on the actions developed by their countries as part of the commitments made to combat climate change in the "Paris Agreement". (EmbaCuba Mongolia)
