Cuba ratified today that the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade also affects U.S. citizens and businessmen.

The international press last March reported that Democratic and Republican senators of the North American nation presented a bill to lift the blockade on the island and create new business opportunities for private U.S. companies.
That policy also limits Cuba's capacity to share its scientific and technological advances with the rest of the world, by virtue of agreements for the exchange of knowledge and medical procedures it has with the U.S. and other countries.
If the restrictions were lifted, the American people could have access to life-saving treatments being developed on the island, especially against diseases such as diabetes, Cuban health scientists recently acknowledged.
