Cuba ratifies commitment to disarmament and non-proliferation.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez ratified his country's commitment to disarmament and non-proliferation on the International Day to Raise Awareness on this scourge affecting humanity.

Through the social network X, the head of the Cuban diplomacy maintained the Antillean country's position on this priority of the United Nations (UN).

While ever more costly and efficient weapons are being built to kill human beings, millions of people are victims of hunger and poverty, denounced the Cuban Foreign Minister.

The UN has consistently denounced that weapons cause unjustifiable human suffering, and advocates redoubling disarmament efforts as a guarantee of peace and security on the planet.

In this sense, the multilateral organization urges to prevent and put an end to armed conflicts and to respect human rights everywhere in the world.

With the estimated price of a fighter plane on the arms market, some 200,000 children could receive an education for a year, the UN graphs on its official website the impact of the global arms scourge.
