Helsinki, April 5, 2024. During a virtual meeting with Her Excellency Ms. Karmen Claus, Director of Transatlantic Affairs at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Beatriz Parra González shared updated information on Cuba, primarily on the impact of the U.S. blockade on the national economy, while thanking the Baltic nation for supporting the resolution calling for an end to these unjust sanctions.

The Caribbean representative also referred to the recent campaigns launched by the White House against Cuban medical collaboration in the international arena, as demonstrated by the Secretary of State during his recent trips to the Caribbean, aimed at ending bilateral agreements that have yielded excellent results for both parties for more than three decades.

The Director appreciated the update she received, which noted, allows them to stay informed about the Cuban situation. She also thanked the Cuban diplomat for the excellent collaboration established during her accreditation in Tallinn, during which she maintained an active contribution to the dialogue between Cuba and Estonia.
