London, 24 June 2024- During its Annual General Meeting on Saturday 22 June, the Cuba Solidarity Campaign (CSC) denounced the unjust inclusion of Cuba on the US State Sponsor of Terrorism List.
Summarising the results of the CSC's work in 2023 and presenting the priorities for the current year, its director Rob Miller reaffirmed that they will continue to support the removal of the island from the list. "It is a nonsense to put someone on the State Sponsors of Terrorism list for hosting a peace talks," Miller stated. He also reminded those present that the CSC's letter to the US ambassador in London, requesting Cuba's removal from the list, remains open for signature.
The Cuban ambassador to the UK, Ismara Vargas Walter, and the European director of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, Rigoberto Zarza Ross, also addressed the event, denouncing the inhumane impact of the blockade that has intensified in recent years, in particular the effects of the State Sponsors of Terrorism List.
