Kingstown, October 22, 2022. On the occasion of the closing of the National Culture Day in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, an activity was held with a large presence of members of the Association of Cuban Residents "Juan Almeida Bosque", members of the Solidarity Movement of SVG-CUBA and government officials.
During the ceremony the Cuban Ambassador Jose M. Leyva Ventura received a check for 10 thousand dollars from the Solidarity Movement and delivered by its Coordinator Bernard Hamilton. This beautiful gesture, joins the announcement made last 13th by Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves to donate 50 thousand dollars with the purpose of helping to mitigate the enormous damages caused by the passage of hurricane Ian. In his words, the Cuban diplomat thanked both gestures in yet another demonstration of the brotherhood and solidarity that characterizes us.
On a night of intense Cuban nationalism, those present ratified their commitment to their homeland, their rejection of the blockade and the destabilizing attempts of the U.S. government against our country. With joy, everyone enjoyed the "Jazz Tropical Project" group made up of musicians from both nations and the young Cuban dancers "Lil Beast Brothers". They were also able to taste our traditional caldosa and typical dishes of Cuban and Vincentian cuisine.
