Havana, February 22, 2022.- After a renovation, Plaza América and its convention center, in Varadero, will host the 40th International Tourism Exhibition (FITCuba 2022), which will relaunch the Cuban tourism product between 3 and May 7, 2022. “Those who attend the main commercial exchange in the sector in the country will find rooms prepared and set up with new technologies, in accordance with the demands of the moment,” said Zulema Afá, event organizer for the facility at the well-known Cuban sun and beach destination.
He reported that three rooms and other areas were expanded to provide more facilities to customers. "We have the strength of Wi-Fi included and, above all, with the biosanitary measures required against covid-19," he added.
The event organizer explained that in that area the service space was increased with car rental points, the Marlin marina, and the artisan fair, which serves several entities that promote cultural products. On the upper level, in the plenary and room G, the equipment for the video and audio projection systems and language translation stands out. The structural systems of the Plaza were remodeled, the floors were changed and the sanitary bathrooms were rehabilitated, as well as the gastronomic services of restaurants, cafeterias and bars. “FITCuba will include three simultaneous forums on business, technology, and events and incentives. In addition, there will be a fair for exhibitors and tourism suppliers, to which activities will be added throughout the tourist area," said Zulema Afá.
The 40th edition of the Cuban tourism exhibition will bring together tour operators, hoteliers, travel agents and industry executives, among others. It will meet in Plaza América as the main venue and will have the Meliá Las Américas hotel as a sub-headquarters, next to the Convention Center. “We have improved all the services for tourists in the country, and in Varadero we have worked in the area of accessible and sustainable tourism; in technology, such as the Varadero Digital City project, and in general in everything we can offer our clients”, commented the event organizer of Plaza América.
