Cuba plans to set up 250 special polling stations so that all citizens with legal capacity can exercise their right to vote in the national elections on Sunday, March 26.
The objective of these is to contribute to the success of the democratic exercise, informed the National Electoral Council (CEN), quoted by Juventud Rebelde newspaper.
According to the island's Electoral Law, these structures are opened in places of high concentration of people such as terminals, student residences, hospitals and tourist facilities.
In addition, they ensure the right to vote to those voters who cannot go to their corresponding polling place due to work, educational or personal reasons.
During this week the details of the premises to be used are being adjusted and the electoral authorities, trained to perform their functions, are already defined.
Next Sunday, more than 23,600 polling stations will open throughout the country, according to the CEN.
Around ten million ballots will be printed, a figure that includes a percent over as a preventive measure for possible punctual actions at the polling stations.
On that date, Cubans will elect their deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), who will be in charge of electing the president and vice-president of the Republic and continue with the legislative development of the Constitution.
