Havana, October 22nd.- In a press conference on October 19, the Minister of Tourism of Cuba, Juan Carlos García Granda, reaffirms the reopening of the destination for tourists and international travelers for November 15, 2021. The Minister tells of being able to receive in the country more than 100,000 international tourists in the time remaining until the end of the year, travelers who will enter through the 10 international airports active in the national territory.
As of November 7, the preventive quarantine measure is eliminated when entering the country.
As of November 15, all passengers vaccinated with a vaccine recognized by the health authorities of the country of origin and children under 12 years of age enter the country freely.
Non-vaccinated travelers must present the negative result of a PCR-Test sample carried out in a laboratory in the country of origin no earlier than 72 hours after arrival in Cuba.
The TTOOs of the main international markets including Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom and Germany have reacted very positively to the opportunity offered by the country with this upcoming reopening and are preparing for customer requests. They have a remodeled hotel plant with greater comfort and quality.
As of November 15, circuits in the country are reactivated, restaurants and private houses are opened. Progress is being made towards a post-pandemic normality made possible by the advancement of the vaccination campaign underway in the country for the entire population from 2 years of age and which should reach 90% of the population in November. Upon its opening, the country will have more than 4,000 new additional hotel rooms for tourism.
All personnel in the tourism infrastructure have been vaccinated or recovered from Covid and the medical care structure in the tourism centers remains active, which will continue to offer excellent medical care to both staff and customers. To guarantee the greatest possible safety for clients and the population, sanitary hygiene measures are maintained until the advance of the vaccination campaign achieves the immunization of the population.
Among other measures, the possibility of using prepaid cards in freely convertible currencies is introduced, which the tourist can buy in banks, at the points of sale of exchange houses, the use of these cards favors payments without the use of cash .
