Cuba will reiterate its denunciation of the U.S. blockade on May 1.

Cuba will denounce the cruel and criminal blockade imposed by the United States on International Workers' Day, President Miguel Díaz-Canel announced today on his official Twitter account.

The head of state reiterated on the social network that the celebration will take place in several squares of the country.

Ulises Guilarte, secretary general of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, recently announced changes in the traditional format of the May 1st celebration on the island, due to the difficult situation the country is going through, especially with the fuel supply.

The Cuban capital will change its venue from the Plaza de la Revolución to the Malecón, an emblematic site for the inhabitants of this city for having been the scene of important mobilizations of the Cuban people in defense of their right to sovereignty and self-determination.

In the other provinces of the country there will be small parades or mass events, and the mobilization will be expressed in social networks with a tweet under the hashtags #Alapatriamanosycorazón, and #1Mayo.
