Cuba wins award for Best Film at the Havana Film New York

The film "Tales of a Day More" was recognized with the award for Best Film at the Havana Film Festival in New York.

The feature film, made under the coordination of director Fernando Pérez, presents six stories about Cuban society during the pandemic and competed with 24 films for the Havana Star Award.

The jury highlighted when announcing the award that it is a graphic record that poetically portrays the bloodiest chapter in contemporary health history and how humanity tried to adapt and move forward, referring to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 22nd edition of the Havana Film Festival brought together more than 30 films from ten Latin American and Latino countries in the United States. The film event concluded this Thursday with the award ceremony in a cinema in Manhattan and the world premiere of the documentary "La Habana de Fito" by Juan Pin Vilar, a co-production by Cuba and Argentina, about the memories of the Argentine singer-songwriter in his relationship with Havana.
