Roseau January 31, 2020. The Cuban Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Dominica, Ulises Arranz Fernández, held a meeting today, January 31, 2020, with the Minister of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence, Honourable Octavia Alfred, at the headquarters of that Ministry. The Permanent Secretary, Chandler Hyacinth, was also present at the meeting. The meeting is part of what the cuban diplomat has been developing with the Ministers of the new cabinet of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, to discuss issues of mutual interest in bilateral relations.
During the meeting several aspects of education in which cuban collaboration could be increased were analyzed. The Scholarship Program for young Dominicans offered by Cuba for the current year and the schedule to be followed for the selection and granting of places was also discussed. The meeting took place in an atmosphere of cordiality and friendship as the relations between the two countries are characterized.
