Nicosia, Cyprus, January 26, 2026.- Invited by the High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Cyprus, His Excellency Mr. Manish, the Ambassador of Cuba to this capital, Rubén Pino Martínez, attended this Monday the official reception hosted by that nation on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Indian Republic Day.
The host diplomat, who has represented the Asian nation's interests in Cyprus since May 2024, briefly outlined a summary of its social, political, and economic achievements, its prominent rise and recognition on the global stage, not only for its industrial and scientific-technical development (considered among the five strongest economic powers in the world), but also for its cultural, culinary, and artistic diversity of notable prestige.
In this context, Pino Martínez thanked for the invitation and congratulated his counterpart, while also extending similar congratulations to all the citizens of India on their national day, especially to their large resident community and to the friends of that nation on this island in the eastern Mediterranean, who showcased the best of their culture, dance, and musical traditions in a gala of high artistic value.
Representing the host government, the ceremony was presided over by Her Excellency Ms. Irene Piki, Vice Minister of the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus, who highlighted the positive relations between the two countries and congratulated the High Commissioner, his government, and nation on behalf of the local authorities and the team that accompanied her during the ceremony.
An evening that tested that magic and the richness of traditions, dances, and sounds that accompany the giant Asian nation, endowed with an unparalleled sense of belonging to that culture, which—being multifaceted and multiethnic—gains uniqueness, renown, and symbolism through its vibrant artistic expressions.
