Canberra, 17 December 2025. The ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Australia, Gilma Moreira Lino, signed the book of condolences opened by the Australian government in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack at Bondi Beach, Sydney, on Sunday, 14 December.
On behalf of the Cuban government and people, the diplomat conveyed her deepest condolences to the Australian government and the families of the victims of the terrorist attack perpetrated against a celebration of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, which caused at least 15 people dead and dozens injured.
This action by the ambassador adds to the condemnations issued by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, who have expressed Cuba's rejection of the attack and solidarity with Australia.
Through its official channels, the Cuban Embassy in Australia reiterated that the Caribbean country reaffirms its principled position against terrorism and extends its condolences to the affected community.
