Cuban Ambassador bids farewell to the authorities of the island of Nevis

Charlestown, Nevis, October 29, 2025. – The island of Nevis was the scene of the farewell meeting between the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, David Rivero Pérez, and the Honorable Mark Brantley, Premier of that territory.

The Cuban diplomat was received at the Premier's office, in a meeting that was covered by local television. During the meeting, both parties offered statements on the joint work carried out in recent years, as well as on the positive state of bilateral relations between Cuba and Nevis.

The Honourable Mark Brantley expressed his appreciation to the Government and people of Cuba for their support in history, particularly in the areas of education and health, of which Nevis has consistently benefited. For his part, Ambassador Rivero Pérez thanked the collaboration and support offered by the authorities of Nevis to the Embassy of Cuba and to the Cuban aid workers, who, he said, are highly appreciated by the local population.

Subsequently, the Ambassador and Counselor Ivón Tomé were received by the Minister of Health of Nevis, Hon. Jahnel Nisbett, and her Permanent Secretary, Shelisa Martin-Clarke, in a meeting that also received local television coverage. Minister Nisbett expressed her appreciation to the Cuban Government for the support provided through scholarships for studies in medicine and medical specialties, as well as for the presence on the island of Cuban professionals who work at the Alexandra Hospital.

Ambassador Rivero Pérez reiterated his gratitude to the Nevisian authorities for the attention given to Cuban collaborators and recognized the excellent conditions in which they carry out their work, contributing to the strengthening of the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.

At another point in the visit, the outgoing diplomats took time for a cordial exchange with health collaborators and Cubans residing in this town.
