Cuban Ambassador concludes visit to Ohio

On March 23- 25, the Ambassador of Cuba to the United States, José Ramón Cabañas, paid a working visit to Columbus, the capital city of the State of Ohio. 
 
During his stay there, the Cuban diplomat held meetings with the Speaker of Ohio House of Representatives, Cliff Rosenberger, who presented him with the key to that State legislative body. Ambassador Cabañas also met with Zach M. Klein, President of Columbus City Council and with David Daniels, Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture.  
 
A highlight in the program of activities carried out by the Ambassador of Cuba in Columbus was the welcome by the President of Ohio State University, Michael Drake, PhD; as well as the visits to and exchanges in different facilities of that educational institution that was founded in 1870 and is considered the largest university of the United States today. 
 
The Cuban diplomat also met with representatives of the Ohio Farm Bureau, the largest farm organization of the State, and with other leaders of the agricultural sector and the business community in Ohio, who conveyed to be very interested in trading with Cuba and underlined the potentials existing in this field. 
 
Ambassador Cabañas also exchanged with leaders of Columbus Partnership and Columbus 2020, who promote the economic development in that region; and with the main leaders of JobsOhio, a corporation created to drive job creation and capital investment in the State. 
 
Likewise, the visit to Columbus was auspicious to dialogue with members of the Cuban-American community in that city. 
 
Throughout this visit, the Cuban Ambassador was accompanied by the Minister-Counselor Rubén Ramos, Head of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Cuban Embassy in the United States.
