Cuban Ambassador to Dominica, Miguel Fraga, meets with Minister of Tourism Denise Charles.

Roseau, Dominica - March 28, 2025 - The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Commonwealth of Dominica, Miguel Fraga, held a cordial meeting with the Minister of Tourism of Dominica, Honorable Denise Charles, during which they discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and explored opportunities for future collaboration.

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat delivered to Minister Charles a letter sent by her Cuban counterpart, Juan Carlos García Granda, Minister of Tourism of Cuba. In the letter, a cordial invitation is extended to the Minister of Dominica to participate in the 43rd edition of the International Tourism Fair FITCUBA 2025.

FITCUBA is considered the main event of Cuban tourism and one of the most relevant events of the sector in the Caribbean, and this year 2025 will be held from April 30 to May 3 in Havana, at the emblematic Morro-Cabaña Complex. In this edition, the People's Republic of China will play a special role as Guest of Honor.

Ambassador Fraga underscored the importance of FITCUBA as a platform for commercial exchange and the promotion of tourist destinations, highlighting Cuba's interest in strengthening tourism cooperation ties with Dominica. He also pointed out that the fair represents an excellent opportunity to consolidate joint initiatives in the field of sustainable tourism.

For her part, Minister Denise Charles thanked the invitation and expressed her willingness to continue promoting bilateral relations in the tourism sector. 

The last edition of FITCUBA, held in 2024, brought together 1,537 foreign professionals, including 437 travel agents on familiarization visits. It was attended by representatives from 68 countries, as well as 68 journalists specialized in tourism from 12 nations, which reaffirms the international character and the wide repercussion of this event.

This meeting reinforces the mutual commitment to continue working for sustainable tourism development, consolidating the historic ties of brotherhood and cooperation between Cuba and Dominica.
