Tehran, May 31, 2026. The Cuban ambassador to Iran, Jorge Lefebre Nicolás, granted an interview to the Iranian English-language newspaper "Tehran Times" in which he denounced US aggression against Cuba and the harmful effects of the blockade.
The Cuban ambassador reviewed the more than 60 years of US sanctions against the island and the enormous difficulties faced by the Cuban population as a result of these unjust sanctions, intensified since the beginning of President Donald Trump's second term, which have generated a complex humanitarian situation in the country. He also denounced to the press the danger of the US fabricating pretexts to justify military action against Cuba, the most serious of which is the false accusation against Army General Raúl Castro.
In closing, he highlighted the diplomatic and economic ties forged between Cuba and the Islamic Republic of Iran over 47 years and the positive collaboration with the various Iranian biotechnology institutions.
