On the occasion of the celebration of the Telethon television programme to raise funds, on the evening of June 11, the Cuban Ambassador to Cyprus, Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero greeted His Excellency Mr. Nicos Christodoulides, President of Cyprus who was at the inauguration of this programme of the state television station RIK.
During the pleasant conversation, the Cuban Ambassador explained to the President of Cyprus that the Cuban Embassy in Cyprus this year has been part of the organisation of the final concert of Telethon which will take place on the 13th of June in the Skali Theatre of Aglantzia. The renowned Cuban musician and former member of the Buena Vista Social Club, Rolando Luna, is the guest pianist who together with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra will perform a Cuban jazz-fusion evening. He also explained that all funds raised will go to Telethon.
Rolando Luna greeted the Cypriot President and expressed the satisfaction of being in Cyprus for the third time and this time to support Telethon on its 30th anniversary and its solidarity work. The Cypriot President thanked Rolando Luna for his show of solidarity.
