The Ambassador of Cuba, Vladimir González Quesada, held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC), Prof. Saeed Sarkar. The Cuban diplomat was accompanied at the gathering by the Second Secretary of the Embassy, Norberto Escalona Carrillo.
Gonzalez and Sarkar discussed arrangements for the upcoming visit to Iran of the Scientific Advisor to the Council of State and Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba, Dr. Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart, who at the invitation of the Vice President of the Islamic Republic for Science and Technology, Dr. Sorena Sattari, will arrive to Tehran on November 11th leading a scientific delegation.
The Ambassador and the Secretary General agreed that the visit of Dr. Castro Diaz-Balart will be a new step in strengthening bilateral relations between Cuba and Iran, especially to promote collaboration in the science sector with emphasis on biotechnology and nanotechnology.
The INIC was established in 2003 and its main task is to determine and implement the general policies for the development of nanotechnology in the Persian nation.
