Galway, Ireland, May 2, 2024. Professor Walter Gear, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering of the University of Galway today received the Cuban ambassador to Ireland, Bernardo Guanche Hernández, who made a working visit to such an important educational institution.
During the meeting, the potential of developing links between this renowned university and its “Ryan” Research Institute with similar Cuban entities was discussed.
The diplomat explained that Cuba continues its scientific research in different spheres, in particular, those linked to the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, technological information, the impact of climate change, etc.
The “Ryan” Institute is one of the largest in the country and has more than a hundred research teams made up of around 500 researchers in different branches.
