Brisbane, 21 August 2025 – The Cuban Ambassador to Australia made an official visit to the state of Queensland, strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and this Australian region. The visit, which included meetings with local authorities, community leaders, Cuban community and representatives of the solidarity movement, reaffirmed the commitment of both peoples to promoting cultural, educational, and social exchange.
During her stay in Brisbane, the Ambassador was received by the Governor of Queensland, the Honorable Dr. Jeannette Young AC PSM; Elton Miller PSM, Executive Director of Agribusiness and Policy at the Department of Primary Industries; David Thannhauser, Acting Executive Director of Governance and Integrity and Governance and Engagement at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet; Sandy Landers, Councillor for the Bracken Ridge District; the Honorable Helen Bowskill, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland; and Jon Krause MP, Deputy Speaker of the House.
The visit was propitious to further strengthening bilateral relations between Cuba and Australia.
