Cuban Ambassador Meets with Deputy Marshal of the Senate
Warsaw, May 14—Cuban Ambassador Ibete Fernández Hernández was received at the headquarters of the Senate of the Republic of Poland by Deputy Marshal Magdalena Biejat. During the meeting, various issues of bilateral interest were discussed.
The Cuban diplomat provided a comprehensive explanation of the situation facing the island as a result of the effects of the blockade, which has been in place for more than 60 years, and the executive orders of the U.S. president, which have a severe impact on the population. She also denounced the threats of aggression against Cuba, a country of peace and solidarity. She further emphasized the importance of condemning these actions that seek confrontation rather than dialogue and peace.
For her part, the Deputy Marshal of the Senate expressed her gratitude for the information and lamented the situation on the island, while advocating for a swift resolution of the problems and the importance of preserving peace.
Senator Magdalena Biejat is a member of the New Left party and was a presidential candidate in the last elections.
