Victoria, May 30th._ Cuban Ambassador Martha Hernández Caneiro was received by Lindy Ernesta, Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Seychelles, where they discussed important issues of bilateral interest.
During the meeting, they talked about the current Cuban medical cooperation in the African archipelago and about future projects in the fields of culture and sports, after the signing of two cooperation agreements in these areas.
Both parties agreed to continue their efforts to advance and consolidate cooperation relations.
In addition, Lindy Ernesta and the Foreign Ministry officials who accompanied her received an extensive explanation about the most recent measures announced by the U.S. government to favor the private sector in Cuba, which do not modify in the least the strong U.S. blockade; and the permanence of the island on the unilateral and illegal list of the State Department as a State sponsor of terrorism.
The ambassador was accompanied at the meeting by Tomás Méndez, minister counselor of the Cuban diplomatic mission. Also present were Louisa Lepathy and Elsa Lepathy, officials of the Seychelles Foreign Ministry.
