Cuban Ambassador Miguel Fraga meets with the Minister of Education of Dominica

Roseau, Dominica - August 7, 2024 - In another significant demonstration of strengthening bilateral ties, the Cuban Ambassador to Dominica, Miguel Fraga, held a fruitful meeting with the Minister of Education, Human Resources Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence of Dominica, Honorable Octavia Alfred, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education in this capital.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues were discussed with a view to deepening collaboration in the field of education, an area in which Cuba has had an outstanding track record. Also discussed was the Scholarship Program for young Dominicans offered by Cuba for this year.

Ambassador Fraga stressed the importance of education as a fundamental pillar for sustainable development and underscored Cuba's commitment to continue supporting Dominica: "Cuba and Dominica share a common vision on the transformative role of education. We are here to strengthen that vision and work together for the benefit of our peoples," said Fraga.

This meeting not only reflects the spirit of cooperation between Cuba and Dominica, but also the firm conviction that education is a crucial tool for progress and social well-being. The relationship between the two countries continues to be an example of brotherhood, solidarity and collaboration in the Caribbean, highlighting the importance of unity and regional cooperation in the search for a better future for all.
