The ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, met today with Mr. ALTAI Khangai, Foreign Secretary of the ruling Mongolian People's Party (MPP).
Both parties discussed the historical and friendly ties between both parties, governments and peoples, as well as the possibilities of continuing to develop them.
The Cuban diplomat conveyed the greetings of the Cuban leaders and congratulated the Party and the Mongolian government for the successful economic results of 2024 and their positive effects on the government's social policies.
Both parties talked on the current international and national events. The Secretary of the MPP Party was interested in the history and current situation of Cuba.
The Ambassador referred to the economic difficulties, particularly in the national electrical system, mainly due to the economic blockade of the United States. He also addressed the arbitrary inclusion of Cuba in the U.S. unilateral list of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
The Cuban diplomat explained that these measures of the United States also affect the relations of Mongolian companies and citizens with Cuba, due to their extraterritorial effects, in violation of the sovereignty of third States.
The Party Secretary mentioned the challenges facing the development of Mongolia, among others, the need to increase the capacity of electricity generation and railway transport networks.
Both parties agreed on the usefulness of dialogue to face current national and international challenges.
