Cuban Ambassador to Mongolia meets with prominent musician and cultural ambassador of Mongolia, Narandelger

The ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, met with the famous young musician and Mongolian cultural ambassador, Narandelger, to talk on the possibilities of bilateral cultural exchanges in music.

The Mongolian musician, founder of the Mouth Harp Association with 21 branches in the provinces and 4 in European countries, explained his intention to create an International museum of that musical instrument in Mongolia. He is also interested in organizing an international festival of this instrument here in 2026 and inviting some Cuban musician.

The mouth harp is one of the oldest and most widespread musical instruments in the world. It is believed to have existed for more than 2 thousand years, to be used in about 160 countries around the world and to be born in Mongolia.

In the Americas, the aboriginal people made them out of bamboo or wood, although nowadays they are also made out of metal

The Ambassador informed him about different international music festivals in Cuba such as Jazz Plaza, Fiesta del Tambor, Varadero Joseone Rumba, Jazz & Son, Piña Colada, among others.

Both parties shared the interest to collaborate in 2025, on the ocassion of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Mongolia.
