Cuban Ambassador to Mongolia met with Deputy Director General for the Americas, Middle East and Oceania of the Mongolian Foreign Ministry

The ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, met at the Foreign Ministry with the Deputy Director General of the Department for the Americas, Middle East and Oceania, Mr. Battulga Ganbat.

The Cuban diplomat updated him on the severe damage suffered by Cuba and the state of recovery after 4 natural disasters: two hurricanes and two earthquakes that affected our country between October and November.

He explained that these natural disasters have caused serious challenges, adding to the cumulative negative effects of more than 62 years of ironclad blockade by the US government and the energy emergency resulting from it.

He also reported that, despite the current difficulties, Cuba will maintain the cooperation of its scholarship program for students from Mongolia and other developing countries, which was appreciated by the Mongolian side.

They also discussed bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest, such as the celebration in 2025 of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of friendly diplomatic relations between the two countries dating back to 1960.

Both parties agreed on the mutual interest in continuing to develop bilateral relations and cooperation.
