The Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia, Mr. Jorge Ferrer, met yesterday with His Excellency. Mr Nyambaatar Khishgee, Governor and Mayor of the capital Ulan Bator.
Also present were Mrs. B. Solongo, Head of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Mrs. B.Amirlan, principal officer and Mr. Tuguldur Gun-Uils, specialist of that Department of the Governor's Office.
The Mayor – Governor presented the development policies of Ulaanbaatar to turn it into a smart city, oriented towards ecological and citizen-friendly development, with a healthy, safe, well-governed and economically viable business environment.
Both parties exchanged opinions on future cooperation and agreed on mutual interest and possibilities for cooperation and business between this capital and Cuba in health, tourism and biotechnology.
In that sense, they agreed to carry out some specific actions to promote mutual knowledge of the business and cooperation potential between both countries. They also talked about School No. 52 of this capital that bears the name of the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí.
The Ambassador thanked him for his contribution during his term as Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs in the finalization of two mutual legal assistance agreements, signed in Havana, in March, by the Ministers of Justice of both countries.
