Cuban ambassador partakes a tribute to José Martí in Tehran

Tehran, February 2, 2025. Cuban Ambassador Jorge Lefebre Nicolás was in charge of the main intervention in an act of tribute to the National Hero José Martí, organized at the headquarters of the Alborz Spanish Language Institute, in Tehran.

The Cuban diplomat shared with teachers and students of that educational center a tour of the life and work of José Martí, emphasizing his human and patriotic values, as well as his commitment to the cause of independence. He also commented on the work of the Apostle developed in only 42 years of life, which were of great interest to those present. He also addressed Martí's political thought and his revolutionary ethics, which have been present in all generations of Cubans.

For his part, Cuban journalist Sabdiel Batista Díaz, a resident of Tehran and professor at that center, gave a dissertation on Martí's extensive bibliography and his role as a journalist in the Patria Newspaper, giving the audience another facet of Martí's work.

By way of closing, the Venezuelan journalist of Hispan TV, Carlos Alonso, recalled, together with the Iranian musical group "Cuerdas de Oriente", the simple verses of Martí captured in the "Guantanamera", for the enjoyment of teachers and students of the Spanish language and of the members of the Ibero-American Diplomatic Corps present at this event.
