Victoria, June 18th._ Cuban Ambassador Martha Hernandez Caneiro participated in the celebration of the 31st Anniversary of the Constitution of Seychelles, at the traditional flag-raising ceremony held on the main island of Mahé, in front of the "Lavwa Lanasyon" monument at the Peace Park in Victoria.

The ceremony was attended by the President Wavel Ramkalawan, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Roger Mancienne, the Chief Justice, Rony Govinden, and other high-level government officials and members of the diplomatic corps.

This activity is held every year on the islands of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue in commemoration of the day the African nation adopted the Constitution of the Third Republic on June 18th, 1993. The ceremonies include music, local traditions and the raising of the national flag as a symbol of the country's sovereignty and independence.
